Emergency call 911

The mission of the Fire Department is to save lives, protect property, promote safety, public fire education and be good ambassadors of the City of White Oak.

The White Oak Volunteer Fire Department was started in 1963 and has protected the city proper and it’s surrounding communities efficiently and effectively for more than 40 years

The department is all volunteer except for the paid fire Chief; this saves our citizens over $350,000.00 per year. The City funds the major equipment and buildings along with a large part of training expense, while the volunteers operate a training field with several projects on it. These projects include, a 3 story training tower, a live fire burn house, a full size three bedroom house for smoke and rescue training, a propane fueled vehicle fire, a dumpster fire and new confined space rescue project and the newest addition of a gas well head for fire training. All this was done with donations and fundraisers.

At this time there are 26 members who operate two fire stations and 9 vehicles. There is always a need for new volunteers. You must be 18 years old and be willing to attend meetings and calls. The meetings are held on the first 3 Monday nights of each month at 7 p.m.

The Fire Department is a member of the State Fireman’s and Fire Marshal’s Association of Texas and The Commission on Fire Protection. Training is Certified through these two agencies along with in house and area schools, all paid for by the City and the volunteers. All we ask you for is your time and dedication to improve our quality of life in White Oak. For more information please call 903-759-9184 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. or contact any volunteer firefighter.

The Department responds to over 400 calls per year, consisting of Fire, EMS, and Rescue. East Texas Medical Center is our ambulance provider and the fire department is a first responder for them.

FIRE PERMITS ARE ISSUED 8:00am - 12:00pm Monday-Friday. INSPECTION REQUIRED.
