The White Oak Economic Development Corporation (WOEDCO)
was developed in 1995 when the citizens voted to approve a ½
cent sales tax to boost the economic development effort in the
community. WOEDCO, along with the City, employs an Executive
Director to organize all economic development activities. Over
the past several years WOEDCO has continued its efforts in maintaining
the quality of life in White Oak as well as increasing the tax
base. WOEDCO has been involved in many relocation projects,
business retention projects, and development projects. The Board
is made of 7 Board of Directors and alternates as well as an

Corporation
EFC
Valve and Controls relocated to 230 Progress Boulevard in
White Oak Texas in January of 2002. Owner Jay Dean came to
WOEDCO for assistance in relocating and renovating the building
he had purchased in the city limits of White Oak. On August
28, 2001 EFC Valve and Controls was awarded a grant in the
amount of $30,000 and a no-interest loan also in the amount
of $30,000. This financial incentive package aided Mr. Dean
in the quest to bring his business to White Oak.
Great
American Coil began their inception in White Oak in 1995.
Since then they have been through three expansions of their
space at 1706 Cherokee Trace. WOEDCO was grateful to help
this growing company in its last expansion project. In May
of 2001, the company was awarded a grant in the amount of
$50,000 and a no-interest loan in the amount of $21,500 for
the purpose of their expansion. Great American Coil has become
one of the biggest employers in the City since it was born.
Our newest project for the White Oak Economic Development
Corporation was approved in April of 2003. The Development
of the Lake Harris Business Park is underway on Hwy 80 in
White Oak, Texas. Owner and Developer of the Property, Greg
Hulett, was awarded a incentive package in the amount of $75,000
for the development of the land and buildings on the property.
This will have a tremendous impact on the continuing growth
the City of White Oak.
